So tonight I finished this skirt, my first wearable project I managed to make without mom. I cut all the pieces out last night and sewed it up tonight. It was a quick project and after the beginning it was an easy pattern to follow. The skirt cost me $13 including fabric, zipper, and pattern.
I can't wait to start my next project! I picked up another skirt pattern the same day, maybe I can scrounge up some time for it this weekend.

Favorite baby beanie
I went through a phase where I was obsessed with sock weight yarn. So soft, beautiful colors, and take a nice long time to knit up. After several projects I had leftover yarn but not enough for any one project so I went looking for a project that could use my leftovers. I found the absolute cutest baby beanie pattern on ravelry and decided to use slip stitching to easily make a cute pattern. This beanie looks like it would only fit a premie but it easily stretches to twice its size. I love the colors.

Hexagon Blanket
The same day I went to buy yarn for Christy's blanket I bought yarn for this afghan as well. The yarn was half off, I couldn't really help myself :). Right now I have all of my hexagons made, but I haven't gotten around to joining them all. Maybe by posting pictures I'll be motivated to finish it? . . . . probably not.
This is a picture I took after working on them the first night so they obviously come together really quickly. This is also going to be a baby blanket. I have a chest of things I have made for my (very future) children. I just love the idea that some day when I have my own little munchkin they will be clothed/wrapped in things by me.

Christy's Baby Blanket
One of my best girlfriend's from college is expecting her first baby (YAY!!!). I really wanted to make something for her and when she told me her nursery was ocean themed I knew she needed a ripple blanket. This pattern is so easy I can do it mindlessly while I watch tv, listen to an audio book, ride in the car, travel through time and space with Dr Who.......you get the idea. Plus I think its really lovely.
Little Bit, our dog, loves the blanket too :)
I got the yarn 1/2 off at Michael's so I ended up only paying $2.50/skein (Woot!). It is Caron Simply Soft if anyone is wondering, love the colors in this line. I have been working on the project for about two weeks off and on and am nearly finished with it. Im working towards finished dimensions of 40''x45''.
The pattern I used I found here.
Can't wait to see the sweet little girl this blanket is destined for, and Im so happy for Christy who I know is going to be a great mommy!
Herman the dragon
Last night I was sitting watching tv and was desperately needing a project to help keep me awake, I started searching Ravelry and found this adorable pattern. I had it finished by bedtime and left it out for my husband in the morning. He is a huge gamer and I thought a dragon would be a great buddy for him to have :) I loved how fast and easy this pattern was. All the examples have faces but I decided he looked cute without one and left it off.
Sorry about the poor photo quality, these are taken with my cell phone since I don't have a camera currently.
